  • Sugar 250 gm
  • Daal 350 gm
  • Green cardamom 3
  • Ghee 1 spoon
  • Dry fruits (Almonds, cashews, peanuts, walnuts, raisins)
  • Ghee one cup
  • Seeds

How to make yellow lentils pudding (moong dal halwa) recipe

Prepare the sweet water for halwa

You can imagine the halwa from its name that we are going to use yellow lentils. So, take the 350-gm yellow lentilsand soak it in water for at least 15 hours. Now prepare the sweet water for halwa. Take the pot and put it in one glass of water. Turn on the heat and also put 250 gm sugar. Mix it with water while using a spoon. When water starts boiling, and the sugar is fully mixed, then put some green cardamom.

Fry the dry fruits

As you know, dry fruits an essential role in any sweets dish, but how can we forget while making halwa. Take the frying pan, put one spoon ghee, and put about 100g of all the dry fruits like almonds, peanuts, walnuts, cashews, and raisins. Fry dry fruits in the ghee and then put on a separate plate.

Grind yellow lentils and cook it.

 Grind all the yellow lentilsl. Now put one cup of ghee in the same frying pan. Add paste of yellow lentils in the ghee. Start mixing the halwa also. You have to cook it on medium flame. Continually use the spoon and cook the halwa. It will take at least 15 minutes to change the color. Till then, you have to mix it. When halwa starts releasing the oil, then put the sweet water in the pan. You can also use some seeds.

Yellow lentils pudding (moong dal halwa) is ready

After putting the sweet water, let it cook for 5 minutes when it observes the water, then put all the fried dry fruits in the halwa. Now again, start mixing the halwa for 10 minutes. If you don’t like the ghee, then you can remove it from the pan.
